The Northstar Link Commuter Bus schedule is changing Saturday, July 31 to accommodate a change in start time for the Twins game from 3:10 to 6:10 p.m.
Northstar Link will leave St. Cloud at 3:10 p.m., instead of 12:15 p.m., with a stop in Becker, arriving at the Northstar Line station in Big Lake at 4:10 p.m. The train will depart Big Lake at 4:21 p.m. and arrive at Target Field at 5:10 p.m.
The cost to ride Northstar Link is $1.50 one way from St. Cloud; $1 from Becker. Train tickets are additional and cost between $1.75 and $5.25 for individual one-way tickets or $17 for a family pass round trip for two adults and three kids.
After the game, Northstar Commuter Rail leaves Target Field 30 minutes after the last out. The Link will leave Big Lake approximately 90 minutes after the last out.
Transit gives a whole new meaning to the saying, “take me out to the ball game,” according to Sherburne County Commissioner Felix Schmiesing, who chairs the Northstar Corridor Development Authority’s efforts to extend rail service to St. Cloud.
“The bus, train combo makes it easy and fun,” Commissioner Schmiesing said. “No driving hassles. No parking fees. No worries about getting back out of town after the game. It’s the only way to go, in my opinion.”
The Link’s normal Saturday evening return will operate as scheduled July 31, leaving Big Lake at 7:55 p.m.
Northstar Link is teaming up with Northstar Commuter Rail to serve eight more games after July 31. They are Aug. 1, 15, 21 and 22; Sept. 4, 5, 19; and Oct. 3. For details go to www.CatchTheLink.com or call 877.LINK.010 (877-546-5010).
