During the week of March 13, Northstar crews prepared the Fridley station site for sheet piling work. Crews surveyed the site, inspected the condition of the pedestrian tunnel and began some utility line excavation.
Northstar crews are expected to begin sheet piling during the week of March 23. Once sheet piling work begins, it is expected to be completed in several weeks.
Sheet piling work is very loud, but is necessary to excavate the tunnel and begin work on the station. Some sheet piling will occur during 4 hour windows that could occur at any time, day or night. Other sheet piling could occur in longer timeframes, but that work is anticipated to take place only during the day. The access schedule will be determined by BNSF. We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause and assure you that crews will work as quickly as possible, while maintaining a safe work environment and creating a quality product.
